Last chance

Sunday, December 20th, 2009

Well I guess that Christmas is almost upon us. This weekend will probably be the last chance I have to complete my Christmas shopping. I feel fortunate to have it all nearly done, but there are a few last minute gifts I need to buy. Even though the weather is very cold, I think I’ll brave it and go to the mall for one last look around.

There are a few people at work that I’d like to get something for. I always find it difficult to buy for my coworkers and that’s why I tend to put it off till last. I think that buying some gift cards will be the ticket this year and I’ll hand them out like candy. I guess that I’ll probably receive a few gift cards myself!

Happy Holidays!!!

Thursday, November 26th, 2009

It’s that special time of year again when the whole family gets together. The Thanksgiving Holidays are always a special time for our family as we all enjoy the time we get to spend with each other catching upon the latest news. Another aspect of this particular holiday I like is to watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade.

I love to wake up and watch the floats go by and the marching bands play. I am always reminded of the many characters that have touched our lives and become a part of the American culture. Well, I got to go eat and so I just wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving!!

Love them gift cards!

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

I have thought that the invention of the gift card was a great idea. Its ease of purchase in the event that an emergency gift was required made it a useful tool. I have been saved from an embarrassing situation more than once by being able to purchase a quick gift for a forgotten event.

It turns out that there can be drawbacks to this wonderful item. Some cards carry fees that reduce their value over time. Another problem is that many times the cards are never used. When they are used, it’s not uncommon that the buyer ends up spending more money than they thought by using the card! Despite their drawbacks, I still love the gift card!

The 4th of July is here!

Sunday, July 5th, 2009

One of the best holidays is the 4th of July. I like to spend the day cooking up the hamburgers and hotdogs in the backyard with the family. It’s always a great day and I really enjoy spending time with the kids. The best part is that it’s topped off with fireworks at night!

I love to see the big show and we go every year. I never tire of seeing the big displays and loud bangs. I am looking forward to celebrating our countries independence with my family and friends. I hope I’ll be able to see some of you at the big show!!
