What I am wearing

Friday, October 21st, 2011

One thing that I am pretty fussy about is the clothes that I wear. I like what I like and will not wear anything else. Anyone who tries to buy me clothes for a birthday or Christmas knows that there is a good chance I will not wear them. That’s just the way it is. That’s why I was surprised when I opened a present from my wife that had clothes in it. I knew this would be interesting.

It turns out that I actually liked these clothes. There were two pairs of mens lab coats that looked really cool. I could tell they were of high quality and would be comfortable to wear. I was surprised that they fit so well as she usually gets me they wrong size. I asked her where she had gotten the clothes and she led me to the computer and showed me a site called http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/categories/Scrubs/Scrubs-for-Men/. It truly was a Christmas miracle.

I have decided to make a rare exception and keep the clothes I was given. I think I would still prefer to purchase my own clothes but I guess that I could use a little help now and then. I’ll just have to see what the future brings on this sensitive subject.

Wardrobes

Wednesday, June 22nd, 2011

It’s funny how life takes you for surprise sometimes. I was in a convenience store today with one of my friends and he noticed that everybody was dressed for work. There was a person wearing a uniform who was obviously an air conditioner worker. There was another person who was wearing a delivery uniform. This got us to thinking about how people identify themselves.

Just then, a young lady walked into the store dressed up in cute pink scrubs. We knew that she was a nurse right away. As we stood in line, we started a conversation. A made a comment about her dress and she told me all about it. She said that she had ordered her scrubs from a site called blueskyscrubs.com. That was where she got all her clothes that she wore to work.

I thought that the clothes looked very comfortable. I was wondering where I could get some for myself. She told me to go to http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/categories/Scrubs/Scrubs-for-Men/ and that I would be able to find any scrub uniforms I needed. When I got home, I checked out the site. I found that they had many clothes I could order for a very cheap price. I am glad that I met that young lady as my wardrobe is much improved.

Newest Latest Greatest

Nothing like a walk through the mall to feel that you are a technology dinosaur. All the teenagers and punk clerks at the trendy stores have the latest cell phones and make mine look like an artifact dug up from an archeology dig.

I went to the Apple Store in Green Hills Mall and decided to take a look at the new iPhone 4 to see if that i something I should get. The salesperson was very helpful, showing me all the different iPhone features and capabilities. I’m not sure it is worth $800, but it is a very cool phone.

Besides all the thousands of apps you can get for the iPhone, you can do even more great things on your home computer, like custom making videos and using an iPhone 4 Video Converter to upload them to your phone. This makes Youtube look prehistoric.

Also got a kcick out of the iPhone 4 Ringtone Maker so that just about every person on my contact list can have their own special ringtone for their incoming calls. Not sure I want to give each one their own ringtone, but then again, why not? Its part of the fun of having the latest and greatest cell phone.

Thinking about an iPhone

My cell doesn’t do much for me besides take incoming calls. If I got an iPhone, I could do so much more. Everyone has heard about all the fantastic apps you can get. But what about some of the other really cool features, like multi-tasking and the facetime?

I have used video conferencing before and have tried Skype, too. But the iPhone facetime is the best feature, in my opinion. I like being able to see the other person and talk at the same time. That is the selling point that got my attention.

Now I just have to figure out if the price is worth it. In today’s tough times, $800 is nothing to sneeze at. There are a lot of more important things that might need that $800. And then again, maybe not.

Pop Tarts

Tuesday, April 26th, 2011

Pop tarts have been around for as long as I can remember. I know my mom used to buy them and keep them in the pantry so us kids could fix ourselves something to eat in the mornings. She and my dad liked to sleep in on the weekends and the kids were expected to fend for themselves for breakfast. And we were totally OK with Pop tarts and a big glass of cold milk.

Now I buy a box of Pop tarts once in a while because they are fast and cheap. They aren’t very portable though. I have tried to take them camping and fishing with me, but they always get busted up and I end up with a silver foil pouch full of crumbs. If there was a better way to package them and keep them whole, I would buy more of them and take them on the road with me. As it is, I grab one in the morning on my way out when I’m in a hurry.
