The one place that I can really relax in is my garage. There is nothing I like more than to tinker around with a project or two in my garage. I spend hours thinking up things to make and making them. I have built a few birdhouses and other projects for the kids. The one thing that I am really proud of is my tools. I like to have whatever tool I need right at my fingertips.
The last big project I started was to make a chair. The wife had seen a picture of one she liked and I wanted to make her one for her birthday. When I started the project, I made a list of the Tools and Hardware that I would need. While I was sure that I had most of the Hand Tools I needed, I realized that I would need some new Power Drills. I knew I would have to purchase the tools I needed before I started.
It took a while for me to get everything I needed together. But I knew it would save time when I actually started working. The chair was a challenge, but I found it easy once I got started. I finished the chair and my wife loves it. She said it was the best birthday present she ever had. I owe it all to a little planning and the best tools.
The Japanese have been well known for their love of fish. This is especially true when it comes to the taste of tuna. They have proven their love of tuna when a Japanese businessman paid a record price of $ 750,000 dollars for a prized blue fin tuna. He plans to sell the fish to the customers at his restaurant.
The tuna weighed in at a weight of 592 pounds. The owner of the fish says it is perfect with just the right amount of fat and that the color is very good. I guess time will tell and we will see whether or not the tuna pays off.
It’s that wonderful time of the year again and I wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. This years Christmas has been wonderful so far and I hope it has been for you too!
We had a great ham dinner and relatives galore. We had some great phone calls from far away family and cards and letters from old friends. All the presents are unwrapped and everyone got a treat. All in all it was a great time for all!
Besides watching football on Thanksgiving Day, my of my favorite things to watch is the news about those who wait for a store to open for days before Black Friday. I wonder of these people are really as crazy as they seem. Going through all that trouble just to shop??
I think I’ll do what I always do and that is to stay home and order my things on the internet. Why fight the crowds when I can have what I need delivered to my house. These people are just not thinking to clearly. They are fun to watch though.
Now that I have moved out from my parents house, Thanksgiving just isn’t the same. I don’t get to go home every year either. That’s the worst part of growing up I think.
I remember how amazing the house smelled the day before and the day of Thanksgiving. Mom would start making potato salad or macaroni, deviled eggs and all of those cakes and pies the day before Thanksgiving. Then on Thanksgiving day, she would get up way before any of us even thought of getting up to start the turkey and ham.
By the time we all woke up, she had it all in the oven and we would wake up starving because the house smelled so good. We usually ate around 2 and the table to overflowing with food. Green beans, corn, yeast rolls, and some years, we had roast duck instead of turkey. Oh how I miss those days!!! I can still smell my mothers cooking when I think about Thanksgiving.
