Ever since November 2006, the Nintendo wii has been the best selling gaming unit on the market. Over 70 million units have been sold to date. With top games like Mario and Zelda, it has been a favorite of millions of people. The problem is that it’s sold so many units, its running out of customers. Many have predicted that its reign as top dog will soon end.

Competition from other gaming vendors like Microsoft and Sony has taken a bite out of the Wii market. Personally, I wouldn’t count the Wii out yet as they are planning to add new games this year that are sure to be good sellers. I think the video game world will be playing the Wii for a long time yet.

Salt Lake City is the proud owner of a new species that was found in the Utah sandstone. Bones of a dinosaur named Abydosaurus mcintoshi were turned up on the property of the Dinosaur National Monument. This animal was a sauropod that was a long neck plant eater. They were known as the largest land animal ever.

The bones of the skull are extremely hard to find as they were made up of tiny bones that disintegrated easily. Luckily, two complete skulls were found. The discovery is going to help scientists fill in some missing pieces about the evolution of dinosaurs and their eating habits. The bones can be seen at BYU’s Museum of Paleontology.

I welcome this time of year and will be glad to cheer on my fellow Americans as they compete against the best athletes in the world. No matter who wins the gold, I am sure that everyone will put aside petty differences and congratulate the winning athletes.

Due to the recent snowstorm, work has been cancelled for today. I was glad to hear that as I need a day off. The only real problem I have is deciding what I am going to do with the time. One thing I can do is finish this book I have been reading for the longest time. I’ll probably end up taking the kids outside for awhile to play and do a little snow shoveling. I guess I’ll see what the day brings.

The first to do so was Boise State who installed a blue colored field for their team. In order to follow suit, Eastern Washington plans to have a field of red for their team to play on. I can’t imagine how much further this trend will go, but maybe we’ll see other innovative trends like this in the future.

My heart goes out to all those people who have suffered from the loss of loved ones, the loss of homes and businesses, and the ruination of their country. It’s hard to imagine the pain they must feel.

I am glad to report that help is on the way from almost every country in the world. It’s good to know that despite the problems, everyone has chipped in and are doing all they can to help. I know that I’ve done my part by contributing to the cause and I hope that everyone else will do the same. Together, we can make a difference!

The New Year is ringing in and I am hoping that it will be a good one. I have made a few resolutions that I think will help me become a better person this year. One thing I have determined to do is to lose a few pounds. I want to start eating healthier and have taken steps to do so.

There are a lot of little things to do that all add up to a better way of living. I am going to eat more fruits and vegetables this year and try to lay off the fatty diet I have become used too. I hope that everyone else will take some steps to improve their life as well. Good Luck and Happy New Year!!

This years Christmas has been wonderful so far and I hope it has been for you too! We had a great ham dinner and relatives galore.

Well I guess that Christmas is almost upon us. This weekend will probably be the last chance I have to complete my Christmas shopping. I feel fortunate to have it all nearly done, but there are a few last minute gifts I need to buy. Even though the weather is very cold, I think I’ll brave it and go to the mall for one last look around.

There are a few people at work that I’d like to get something for. I always find it difficult to buy for my coworkers and that’s why I tend to put it off till last. I think that buying some gift cards will be the ticket this year and I’ll hand them out like candy. I guess that I’ll probably receive a few gift cards myself!

Today’s weather has been rainy and cold. This has ruined my plan of putting up the Christmas lights that I had planned to do. Since this chore has been canceled, I have been forced to find other things to do. Mostly, I have been on the computer catching up on my writings. It has been a busy time for me lately and I needed a day or two to catch up.

One problem that I have had is my body is aching. Whenever the cold gets to my old bones, I get a little uncomfortable. I turned up the heat a little but do not want to run up my heating bill too much. I was glad when the clothes we washed were put in the dryer, that warmed things up a bit! I think maybe I’ll also start a fire later this evening that will be nice!
